to write a rhyme in tones that show
the way my country tis of thee
can sling and scat its breath in tow
while loot and lie and scam to me
will take encapsulating lust
and greed and might vanity.
to write a poem to write a song
emote a feeling true to me-
is hard to fathom it'd be long
enough to show the truth i see
will take encapsulating lust
and greed and might and vanity.
america will soon be known
for telling tales like spelling bees
will find itself amongst the lands
that dwell inside lost fantasy's
will take , encapsulate the lust and
greed and might and vanity.
a poem cannot convey the lie
america has grown to be.
